Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to 96 The Grand Parade, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? This beachfront apartment in Brighton Le Sands completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. The moment you step onto that balcony (and trust me, you’ll spend half your time there), you’re hit with this incredible view of Botany Bay that makes you forget you’re technically still in Sydney’s suburbs.

The thing about Brighton Le Sands is that it’s got this laid-back, almost European vibe that most tourists never discover – they’re all cramming into Bondi while locals know this stretch is where you actually want to be. The Grand Parade runs right along the water, so you’re literally a two-minute walk from the sand, and I mean actually good sand, not that packed tourist stuff. The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – nothing fancy, but clean and functional with that slightly worn-in feel that somehow makes it more comfortable, not less. The kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to grab fresh seafood from the fish markets (which are maybe a 10-minute drive), and honestly, cooking dinner while watching the sunset over the water became my favorite part of each day.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits right in the middle of everything without feeling chaotic. You’ve got that gorgeous walking path that stretches for kilometers along the bay – perfect for morning runs or evening strolls when the wind picks up and you can smell the salt air mixed with barbecue smoke from the nearby parks. The airport’s close enough that you’ll hear planes occasionally, but it’s more of a distant hum than anything disruptive, and frankly, it’s kind of nice knowing you’re not stuck in some remote location when it’s time to leave. Parking was surprisingly easy (there’s street parking right outside, which is basically a miracle in Sydney), and the whole check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no pretentious lobby nonsense, just keys and genuine recommendations about where to grab the best coffee in the morning. The local cafés along the strip have this authentic multicultural feel that reflects the area’s Greek and Middle Eastern influences, and you’ll find yourself becoming a regular at whichever one catches your eye first. Sure, the rating’s a 7.7 out of 10, and I get why – it’s not luxury, and the furnishings could use updating – but sometimes what you want is a real place in a real neighborhood where you can actually live like a local for a few days instead of feeling like you’re trapped in a hotel bubble.

  We absolutely loved our stay! The beach right across from the unit—wow! It looked exactly like the photos. The location was unbeatable: walking distance to great restaurants, local activities, and Cole’s. The airport was only 6 minutes away, and just a 15-minute drive to the city. The unit itself was fantastic, with plenty to do in the evenings. The host was a true gem—everything we needed was available. Highly recommend!

  I had an amazing experience at this property! The location couldn't be better right across the beach and minutes to the local shops. The apartment was spotless and felt very comfortable. We loved the free amenities given to us during our stay and the board games. The host was also amazing and responded within minutes!! Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
