Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places around Sydney’s beaches, but Bay Court I actually surprised me – and honestly, that doesn’t happen often anymore. The moment you walk into this studio, you get why it’s pulling those 9/10 ratings. It’s not just “spacious” in that fake real estate way – I mean, you can actually spread out your stuff without playing Tetris with your suitcase.

The location is what really gets me though. Hayes Beach is literally right there, and I’m talking about a proper two-minute stroll, not some “beach proximity” nonsense where you’re hiking for twenty minutes. You wake up, grab your coffee (the little kitchenette setup is actually decent – proper fridge, not some bar fridge situation), and you’re on sand before your caffeine kicks in. The beach itself isn’t overrun with tourists either, which… well, let’s just say I’m not complaining about that. Early mornings are especially perfect – you get that whole golden hour thing happening over the water, and honestly, it beats any expensive sunrise tour.

What I really appreciated was the attention to the details that matter. The shower pressure is solid (you know how hit-or-miss that can be), the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the space, and – this might sound weird – but the soundproofing is surprisingly good. I was expecting typical paper-thin walls, but even with some late-night revelers wandering back from the local spots, I slept fine. The bed’s comfortable too, though I will say the pillows are a bit firm for my liking. There’s decent storage space, which is clutch when you’re staying more than a night or two, and the whole place feels clean without that overwhelming chemical smell some hotels blast you with.

Parking was easier than I expected for this area – there’s street parking that’s not completely impossible to navigate, though I’d recommend getting back before evening if you don’t want to circle the block a few times. The check-in process was smooth, no drama there. You’re also within walking distance of some solid local cafes and a grocery store, so you don’t need to venture far for basics. I grabbed supplies from the Woolworths about five minutes away and cooked a couple of simple meals – the kitchen setup handles the basics just fine.

The 4-star rating feels right – it’s not trying to be some luxury resort, but it nails what it’s going for. Clean, comfortable, practical, and that beach access is the real winner. I’d definitely book it again, especially if I wanted to just decompress for a few days without the usual tourist circus. For the price point and location, it’s honestly a pretty solid choice.
