You know what struck me first about this place on Eora Street? It’s actually quiet – and I mean properly quiet, not just “quiet for Sydney” quiet. When you’re staying in what’s technically still considered Greater Sydney, you don’t expect to wake up to birds instead of traffic, but that’s exactly what happened here. Bardia’s one of those suburbs that feels like a secret – it’s about 45 minutes southwest of the CBD, but honestly, it might as well be in a different world.

The house itself is one of those modern builds that actually got the layout right. Five bedrooms sounds excessive until you realize how cleverly they’ve spaced everything out. The main living area has this lovely open feel without being one of those echo-y warehouse situations, and the kitchen – well, let’s just say whoever designed it actually cooks. There’s proper counter space and the fridge is big enough for a family, not those tiny apartment-sized things you usually get in rentals. The bedrooms are genuinely comfortable too, with decent-sized windows and built-in storage that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. I stayed in the master and the ensuite was spotless, though the shower pressure could be a touch stronger – nothing deal-breaking, just worth mentioning.

What I really loved was how the place sits in the neighborhood. Eora Street is this quiet residential road where people actually wave when they’re walking their dogs, and there’s something refreshing about that after the usual Sydney hustle. The local shops are a quick drive away – there’s a decent coffee place about ten minutes down the road that locals seem to love, and a Woolworths for groceries. Parking was completely stress-free, which anyone who’s driven in Sydney will appreciate. The host was pretty responsive too, checked in without being pushy and left clear instructions for everything. Look, it’s not going to win any design awards, but it’s clean, comfortable, and genuinely peaceful. If you’re looking for a base to explore the area or just want to experience suburban Australia without the tourist crowds, this spot delivers exactly what it promises – no more, no less, but sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
