You know what? When I first walked into Belle’s at Bondi, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from an apartment rental – I mean, you never really know what you’re getting into with these places. But this two-bedroom setup on Curlewis Street actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself is pretty unassuming from the outside, but once you’re inside, it’s got this really clean, modern vibe that feels more like a boutique hotel than someone’s spare apartment they’re renting out.

The location is what really sold me though. I kept telling people it’s about 500 meters to the beach, but honestly it feels even closer when you’re walking it – maybe a 5-minute stroll max, and you’re hitting the sand at Bondi. What’s brilliant about Curlewis Street is that you’re close enough to feel the ocean breeze (especially in the mornings), but far enough back that you don’t get the absolute chaos of the main beachfront strip. I actually slept really well here, which is saying something because I’m usually pretty sensitive to noise. The apartment gets this lovely cross-breeze in the evenings, and there’s something about the way the light hits the living room in the late afternoon that just makes you want to grab a wine and settle in.

The two bedrooms are genuinely comfortable – not just “vacation rental comfortable” where you’re making do with whatever furniture someone threw together. I mean, the beds are actually decent, and there’s proper storage space, which you’d be surprised how rare that is in Sydney rentals. The kitchen is well-stocked too, and I found myself cooking more than I usually do on trips because everything I needed was actually there. Plus, there’s a little balcony that catches the morning sun perfectly – I probably spent more time out there with my coffee than I should admit. The whole setup just feels thoughtfully put together, like someone actually cares about the experience rather than just cramming in as many bookings as possible. Walking to the beach becomes part of your daily routine here, not just a special expedition, and being in Bondi but slightly removed from the tourist madness… well, it’s pretty much the sweet spot you’re looking for.

  What could be improved: The shower & plumbing/drainage had some major issues – bathroom was very easily flooded due to poor drainage.
