Amazing Sydney Apartment with Pool, Gym and Sauna
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of Sydney CBD places, and this apartment on Gloucester Street actually surprised me – in the best way possible. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and it’s just… better than the photos? That’s exactly what happened here. The building itself is modern without being sterile, and honestly, the location is pretty perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist circus that is Circular Quay every morning.
What really sold me was the pool situation – I mean, finding a decent pool in the CBD that isn’t packed with screaming kids or has those weird hours where it’s only open from 2-4 PM? Nearly impossible. But this one’s actually usable, and the sauna (which I wasn’t expecting much from) turned out to be legit. After walking around Sydney all day – and trust me, you’ll do more walking than you think – that sauna hits different. The gym’s nothing fancy, but it’s got the basics and it’s clean, which is more than I can say for some of the hotel “fitness centers” I’ve encountered. You’re also literally a two-minute walk from Hyde Park, which is where I’d go for my morning runs anyway, so the gym almost felt like a bonus.
The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there, not like a corporate housing unit. Kitchen’s fully stocked (they even had decent coffee – small miracle), and the whole space just flows well. I loved that you could actually open the windows and get some air circulation going, especially on those Sydney nights when it’s warm but not quite hot enough for AC. Parking was surprisingly painless too, which if you’ve ever tried to park in the CBD, you know is basically winning the lottery. The building’s quiet at night – I was worried about street noise since Gloucester can get busy, but the windows must be pretty decent because I slept great. Only tiny thing I’d mention is that the building’s elevator gets a bit slow during peak hours, but honestly, that’s me being picky. When you’re paying Sydney CBD prices and actually getting value for it, plus you can walk to literally everything – Martin Place, the Opera House, all the good restaurants in the laneways – it’s pretty hard to complain about waiting an extra minute for the lift.
You need to let the property know what time you'll be arriving in advance.
