Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? It’s actually a proper terrace house – like, a real converted Victorian home – sitting right there on Liverpool Street in Darlinghurst. I mean, when you think Sydney accommodation, you’re usually picturing some glass tower or cookie-cutter hotel, but this four-story beauty feels like you’re staying in someone’s gorgeous family home (well, if your family happened to have impeccable taste and a serious renovation budget).
The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like a local rather than a tourist. You’re literally a two-minute walk from Oxford Street, which means you can stumble home from dinner at那些 trendy spots without dealing with Ubers or trying to figure out the night bus situation. And here’s something I didn’t expect – it’s surprisingly quiet for being so central. The terrace design actually buffers a lot of the street noise, though you’ll still hear the occasional late-night reveler on weekends (comes with the territory in Darlinghurst, really). The whole area has this village-y feel during the day, especially if you wander down toward Crown Street for coffee – there’s this little pocket of cafes that the locals hit up that most visitors never find.
What really sets this place apart is how they’ve kept the character of the original building while making it actually functional for modern travelers. The stairs are steep and narrow (fair warning if you’re traveling with heavy bags), but that’s just how these old terraces are built, and honestly, it adds to the charm. Each level feels different – some rooms have these gorgeous original fireplaces, others have been opened up with skylights that flood the space with natural light. The whole place has this lived-in elegance that you just can’t fake. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and the staff actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give proper recommendations (not just the usual tourist traps). They steered me toward this little wine bar on Burton Street that I never would have found otherwise. The only minor thing is parking – there isn’t dedicated parking, but that’s pretty standard for this part of Sydney, and honestly, you won’t need a car anyway since everything’s walkable or a quick bus ride to the city center.

Reviews
Lovely hosts. Comfortable stay and would book again! 🙂 – Rhiann from Australia – 10 June 2025 (9/10)
Great location
Spacious
Clean and comfortable
Informative hosts
Great for group of friends travelling together
What could be improved: Hotel style bed sheets. Doona cover would have made it feel more homey rather than two sheets keeping the blanket in place.
Still a comfortable sleep.
No sugar or dish soap. Only found hand soap. A few sachets of sugar for night one would have been good.
