When I pulled up (and yes, there’s decent parking – thank god because Sydney parking is brutal), it felt more like visiting a friend’s place than checking into accommodation. The house itself has that solid suburban Australian vibe – you know, the kind where you can hear families going about their evening routines and someone’s always got a BBQ going somewhere nearby. It’s about a 10-minute drive to the airport, which is perfect because you’re close enough that you won’t stress about missing flights, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant plane noise. Well, you’ll hear the occasional aircraft, but it’s not that overwhelming drone you get right under flight paths.

What really got me was how liveable this place feels. The three bedrooms are actually spacious – not those cramped hotel rooms where you’re bumping into each other trying to get ready. The kitchen’s properly set up too, which matters if you’re staying more than a night or two. I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings because there’s a decent Woolworths just a few streets over on The Grand Parade. The living area has this comfortable, lived-in feel that makes you want to sprawl out with a coffee and actually relax instead of just… existing in a space, if that makes sense. There’s something about the natural light in the morning that just works – big windows without being too exposed to the neighbors.

The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet during the day, then gets this nice family buzz in the evenings when people are coming home from work. I’d walk down to Brighton-Le-Sands beach some afternoons – it’s maybe 15 minutes on foot and honestly one of Sydney’s underrated spots. Way less touristy than Bondi, and you get these gorgeous views across Botany Bay. The local shops along The Grand Parade have that authentic suburban feel – nothing fancy, just good Vietnamese food and the kind of bakery where locals actually queue up for their morning coffee.

I guess what I’m trying to say is this place works because it doesn’t try too hard. It’s not Instagram-perfect or loaded with unnecessary amenities, but it gives you space to breathe and actually enjoy being in Sydney without the city center madness. The 4.5-star rating feels right – it’s well-maintained and comfortable without being precious about it. Perfect if you need airport access but want to feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than just passing through.

  We booked this last minute travelling through and communication with Andy and Lucy was good.
  I was a bit worried at first when I found out the owners were in the front house of the property as other stays I have had were very uncomfortable but I can honestly say this was not one of those times.
  The holiday cottage is very private with seperate entry down the side. Comfortable and quiet.
  Parking is on the street.
